Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu presented a miniature of the Blue Line train to Grenadian Prime Minister, Dickon Michelle (left), after talks on bilateral relations between Grenada and Lagos State in St. George’s … last weekend.

Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, an unrepentant marketer of the abundant industrial investments available for exploration in the state of aquatic splendor, has succeeded in opening discussions on various bilateral commercial relations with the international business communities, and Grenada has just been added to the kitty.

The trip last weekend to St. George’s, Grenada, was similar to one of such trips that began last quarter of 2023 when the Governor led the state’s trade delegation to London.

At St. George’s over the weekend, Governor Sanwo-Olu had a dialogue with Grenada’s Prime Minister, Mr. Dickon Michelle, on the exchange of bilateral trade relations with the largest economy in the entire west coast of Africa, Lagos.

The Governor’s Instagram page revealed that the two leaders had preliminary discussions on various sectors of the economy that would be mutually beneficial to the two parties.

The two leaders exchanged ideas on tourism, agriculture and other economic interests. Mr. Sanwo-Olu also attended some social engagements during his visit. Michelle spoke about Granada’s 50th anniversary coming up in February.

The Governor reported that the two leaders “exchanged ideas on tourism, agriculture, and other economic interests”.

Recall that Mr. Sanwo-Olu hit the streets of London a couple of weeks ago and physically participated in various investment fora – such as the Lord Mayor’s Show, and road shows, and he was a guest in various television and radio shows highlighting areas’ high return on investment is guaranteed in Lagos state.

Explaining the rationale for leading the investment promotion team to London, Sanwo-Olu volunteered, “Conversations around the potential in which the State was endowed had not been fully told”, stressing that he led the State’s investment drive to London to avail foreign investors of invaluable information and to clear doubts that may surround the State’s business climate.

Succinctly put, Grenada’s trip was not exclusively government business as the Governor squeezed out time to attend a social function.
