Mr George Uriesi, Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer, ED/COO, Ibom Air
Ibom Air continues not only to demonstrate its commitment to safety and security in its entire operations but, has overtly stood by the personnel who often risk their lives to secure humans, materials and the equipment at the aerodrome during emergencies.
The commitment to the tasks of the aerodrome rescue and fire fighting personnel was demonstrated by Ibom Air, when its Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer, ED/COO, Mr George Uriesi, took time out and travel to Abuja, to felicitate with the Nigerian Aviation Fire and Safety Association, NAFSA.
In Uriesi’s presentation at the Biennial Conference of NAFSA, in Abuja, last weekend, he underscored the importance of cooperation and collaboration to effectively and efficiently combat aviation safety challenges and to prevent or mitigate emergencies.
He argued that whenever there is a robust and well-thought-out collaboration, safety will be enhanced, and organic growth becomes the dividend of collaborators and will in turn positively impact the industry.

At the conference which had as its theme, “Rationale for Collaborations and Inclusiveness in Emergency Response Geared Towards Achieving the Aviation Roadmap,” Uriesi reiterated the enormous benefits in partnership during emergency response.
He described collaboration during emergencies as an invaluable strategy that easily propels the safety crew towards the success of their task.
However, the Ibom Air COO noted that more often the aerodrome rescue and fire safety crew don’t get the recognition they deserve but urged them not to despair as it is incontrovertible, the invaluable service they rendered in making air travel one of the safest means of transportation in the world.
The conference was described as a pivotal event for aviation safety and emergency management professionals, and a platform for robust discussions on advancing emergency response capabilities in line with Nigeria’s aviation roadmap.
The forum was a significant opportunity for stakeholders to stay informed about the latest advancements and strategies in the aviation sector.
Ibom Air’s Presence at the conference not only reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to safety and collaboration but also signalled a proactive stance in shaping the future of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
