Sequel to the runway excursion by Air Peace aircraft, at about 0745 hours, which led to the closure of the Port Harcourt International Airspace, PHIA, the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has announced the resumption of flight operations at the airport.
According to the media statement by FAAN, the landing distance has also been temporarily reduced to 2700 metres, instead of the stipulated 3000 metres.

Air Peace airline, in its media statement earlier in the day, said “we reassure the flying public of our unflinching commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in all our operations”.
