Late Deacon (Engr) Samuel Adisa Olukayode Adeyinka, 1940-2026
Report by Sanya Adewale
It came like a rumour, yet it became real. Funeral date fixed and came to pass. A man very pious in his service and worship of God. A deacon and an elder statesman of many good virtues has gone to rest from his hard work.
Deacon Engr Samuel Adisa Olukayode Adeyinka, our Patron in Morning Star Society, Ibara Baptist Church, Abeokuta, a caring father, was graciously laid to rest on Friday, 15th of May 2026.

Pa Samuel A.O. Adeyinka, a father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was a highly disciplined person. A cooperator par excellence and a great philanthropist, but maintaining a dignified low profile, had completed his course in the earthly realm.
Engr Adeyinka was an elder statesman and a great mentor in numerous and diverse vocations such as agriculture, acquisition and development of landed property, business generation and management and many more. He has relinquished those roles and left us to continue applying the skills and virtues he imparted to those of us who are the beneficiaries of Deacon Adeyinka’s heart of gold.

The sterling qualities of the elder statesman informed the array of distinguished personalities present at his funeral to pay their last respects at an event that would, sooner or later, mark the end of all mortals.
Among the sympathisers present were Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo Rtd, the former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, FRN, Chief Oba Otudeko, a guru in entrepreneurship, The Revd Dr. Emmanuel Adekunle, Bishop of Egba Anglican Diocese, Revd Dr Wale Oyeniyi, President, Ogun Baptist Conference, a highly powerful delegate from the royal palace of the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Dr Adetokunbo Aremu Gbadebo, led by Chief Toyin Adeyinka, the Osi Babalaje Egba, to mention but a few.

The main auditorium of the Ibara Baptist Church and its premises were filled. Even the Events Centre of OOPL, the venue chosen for the entertainment of guests, although a very large hall, could not contain the guests present.
The entire congregation of the Baptist Church, Ibara, Abeokuta, led by Revd Dr Timothy Olatunbosun and Revd Felix Oluwayinka, fervently prayed for the repose of the soul of Deacon (Engr) Samuel Adisa Olukayode Adeyinka and bade him ‘goodbye’ of the holy ones.

They prayed to God for HIS continuous care of Deacon Olukayode Adeyinka’s wife, Mrs Olubukunmi Adeyinka, his children, Mr Abiodun Adeyinka, Maj Gen. Adekunle Adeyinka, Mrs Funmilayo Anetor, Mrs Oluyemisi Akinyemi and Mr Kayode Adeyinka.
The children, grandchildren and the entire Adeyinka extended family all over the world were lifted in prayers and invoked the blood of Jesus as a solid protection over every living soul Deacon Adeyinka left behind.

May Pa Samuel Adisa Olukayode Adeyinka’s soul rest in perfect peace.
