2 min read

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has pledged that it’s ‘’fully committed to the implementation of the Aviation Gender Equality Program, as well as the promotion of women in STEM education.

The Director General, DG, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Capt Musa Nuhu, made the pledge in his solidarity message on the commemoration of the International Women’s Day, 2020.

In the solidarity media statement signed by the DG, he said the ‘’Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, in alliance with the international civil aviation community, celebrates the International Women’s Day 2020, recognizing women as the bedrocks of all successful societies’’.

Musa’s statement said that the NCAA on this day recognizes and appreciates women’s ‘’contributions towards the development of the aviation industry’’

The statement indicated that the NCAA is a gender equality organization and it appropriately recognizes women’s rights giving women their full complements in a very fair and transparent manner.

In a statement by the organisers of the commemorative event, ‘’an equal world is an enabled world. Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day.

We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender-equal world.

The organiser’s advocacy further urges, ‘’So let’s build a gender-equal world. Equality is not a women’s issue, it’s a business issue. Gender equality is essential for economies and communities to thrive. A gender-equal world can be healthier, wealthier and more harmonious – so what’s not great about that?

The race is on for the gender-equal boardroom, a gender-equal government, gender-equal media coverage, gender-equal workplaces, gender-equal sports coverage, more gender equality in health and wealth … so let’s make it happen.

Let’s be #EachforEqual
