Workers Pass Vote of Confidence in Capt Chris Ona Najomo

All the aviation workers’ unions plying their various professional tasks in the employment of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, have passed a vote of implicit confidence in the Acting Director General Civil Aviation, Ag DGCA, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Capt. Chris Ona Najomo, for already ensuring a tailwind in the current manner he’s providing leadership in the administration of the Nigeria CAA.

Comrade Diepreye Stephen, the Chairman National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers, NAAPE, NCAA chapter, commended the Ag DGCA, for the swift manner he started with the resolution of various lingering welfare issues for the entire workforce.

Diepreye Stephen said the Ag DGCA, had started implementation of the jointly agreed Conditions of Service, CoS, which hitherto was put in abeyance by the previous DGs.

He said the outstanding promotion issues have been resolved, while the backlog of rent allowance, and wage award had been paid, including the continuous payment of wage award for 2024 housing allowance, Stephen said.

Stephen also stated that Capt Najomo had started continuous improvement of the welfare of contract staff through improved salaries, while ensuring their promotions are not denied by bringing its implementation in consonance with the approved Conditions of Service, CoS, resolution of promotion issues.

In his interaction with a cross-section of aviation editors on the workers’ day celebration for 2024, the Chairman, Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, ATSSSAN, NCAA Chapter, Comrade Remi Aderinkomi, commended Capt Najomo for the liberalization of the registration and issuance of certificates for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, UAVs and drones.

He said the Ag DGCA, had restarting audit-compliant airlines like Max Air and achieving an excellent result in the ICAO security audit and the inestimable peace currently experienced in the Nigeria air transport industry.

Comrade Aderinkomi enthused, “His agenda is in consonant with our aviation Minister’s developmental agenda for Nigeria’s aviation which has workers’ welfare as one of the priority areas”. He said.

He added that “the Ag, DGCA, NCAA Captain Chris Najomo, since assumption of office had been working assiduously and is doing a beautiful job of redeeming outstanding wages and allowances of our members in NCAA as well as all the workers of aviation”.

Aderinkomi urged individuals, or groups that might be responsible for the recent campaign of calumny thus, “I want to advise every faceless and offshore blogger, reporters who are trying to destroy Captain Najomo towering image that they should learn and drop all their antiques because we the workers NCAA, we are solidly behind Captain Najomo”.
