Mr David Sunday Imoh, the Sound Engineer murdered by a mob of commercial motorcyclists
The Lagos State Government has reiterated its total condemnation of the mob attack in which a sound engineer was killed in Lekki.
A statement by the state government and signed by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotosha, said four suspects arrested are still with the police at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Panti, while two survivors of the condemnable act are in the hospital.
The media statement affirmed that Mr Gbenga Omotoso had spoken with the family of the victim, Mr David Sunday and also delivered the condolence message of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, reassuring the family and Lagosians that justice will be done in this matter that has caused so much public anxiety.
Omotosho reiterated that Lagos State Government had no room for savagery and that anybody found to have been involved in this barbaric act will surely face the full wrath of the law.
Lagosians and by extension Nigerian citizens and law-abiding alien residents have been reminded that the state government will not condone any kind of jungle justice, no matter who the perpetrators may be.
The Information Commissioner urged all Lagosians to remain calm as the police continue the investigation on the matter.
Following the gruesome murder, the Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce, CSP Shola Jejeloye, led a team of officers and men to the axis to carry out a raid on commercial motorcyclists operating illegally in that area.
The operation which lasted for about 4 hours began in the early hours of Tuesday, in which 10 okada operators were arrested and about 123 bikes plying the Lekki Epe Expressway were impounded, around Lekki Phase 1 axis, Admiralty.
Speaking on the exercise, the task force Chairman, CSP Shola Jejeloye said the agency had carried out a series of raids and seizures along the Lekki axis in the past but unfortunately the operators of commercial motorcycles have refused to turn a new leaf thus causing mayhem in the State which resultant effect is worrisome.
