The Society of Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers of Nigeria, SLAMEN, has elected a new National Executive Council, NEC, to steer the activities of the society henceforward.
SLAMEN new exco members emerged at its Annual General Meeting, AGM, which was followed by the election of new national executives.

The two major events although rolled into one occurred at the Nigerian Air Force’s 631 ACMD conference hall (NAF C130 hangar), Murtala Muhammed Airport, MMA, Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday, 15th April 2023.
A statement signed by the National Secretary of SLAMEN, Engr. Sheri Ayuba Kyari stated that on Saturday, 15th April 2023, at the 1st Quarterly General Meeting/ Elections of the National Executive Officers of the Society, the following Aircraft Engineers were elected as follows:
- Engr. Mubarak Haladu – President
- Engr. Manbee Ibrahim – Vice President
- Engr. Sheri Ayuba Kyari – National General Secretary
- Engr. Shadrach Ubah – Assistant National General Secretary
- Engr. Nlewem Chinyere – National Financial Secretary
- Engr. Opeyemi Johnson – National Public Relations Officer

Four other offices are to be filled later.
In the President’s acceptance speech, he appreciated all those who took their time to come for the General Meeting and the elections and for those who voted for him and those who did not. The President emphasized that his victory belongs to SLAMEN and promised to sacrifice his time and energy to move SLAMEN forward to another level in its quest for professional excellence.
Finally, he urged all Licensed Aircraft Engineers to support the executives so as to leave a legacy for the younger ones aspiring to make a career out of aircraft maintenance engineering.
