All Directors in Five Aviation Agencies Compulsorily Retired

The Federal Government has relieved with immediate effect, the appointments of all directors in all the aviation agencies including the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NIMET.
The affected directors have been directed to hand over to the most senior officers in their respective directorates.
A media statement by the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development titled, “REORGANIZATION IN THE AGENCIES UNDER THE MINISTRY OF AVIATION AND AEROSPACE DEVELOPMENT” said Following the change in the leadership of the Aviation and Aerospace Development Agencies’ CEOs, and MDs,…. Mr President has approved that all directors in the following agencies be relieved of their appointment.
The media statement announced thus, “The Directors of the affected agencies are as follows:
• Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria – FAAN
• Nigeria Metrological Agency – NiMET
• Nigeria Airspace Management Agency – NAMA
• Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority – NCAA
• Nigeria Safety and Investigation Bureau – NSIB

The ministry reiterated in the statement thus, “All affected DIRECTORS are to ensure strict compliance, please”.
Also, the statement added a caveat that “all the agencies’ Board Secretaries and Legal Advisers that they are not affected by this directive”.
The media statement also alluded to the rationale for the far-sweeping reform which is to reposition the aviation industry and ensure safe, efficient, and economic transportation of humans and cargo.
It also added that the expected outcome would be such that synchronizes “with the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President”.
