Arik Air Crowned Most Labour Friendly Airline In 2024

Arik Air, Nigeria’s leading airline, has been honoured with the award of the Labour Friendly Airline of the Year 2024.
The award was bestowed on Arik Air by the Joint Consultative and Negotiating Council (JCNC), an amalgam of the four existing trade unions in the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.the
The award was presented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, who represented the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, at the 11th edition of the Aviation Workers Week held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, on 25th February 2025.

Receiving the award, the Chairman of the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE), Arik Air chapter, Engr Mudi Muhammad, who represented the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of the airline, Capt Roy Ilegbodu, thanked the leadership of JCNC for finding Arik Air deserving of such a great award. He promised that the management would continue to build a more lasting relationship with the workers and unions.
Speaking on the unique award, the CEO of Arik Air, Capt Ilegbodu said: “We are honoured to have received the Labour Friendly Airline of the Year award from the JCNC of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
Ilegbodu disclosed that the receivership team has always prioritized the welfare of Arik Air workers since taking over in 2017.
This current award made it the second time Arik Air will be so honoured by the JCNC of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace.
