AVIATION MINISTRY’S FRAUD: EFCC Drags Hadi Sirika An Avowed Buharist, Daughter, Others To Court Thursday

The former Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Hadi Sirika, a self-acclaimed Buharist, and his daughter, Fatima, are to appear at the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, on Thursday.

Sirika, Fatima and two others; one Jalal Hamma, and Al-Duraq Investment Ltd, will be arraigned before Justice Sylvanus Orji, on the charges of abusing their positions to launder over N2.7 billion.

The four suspects are to contend with the six-count amended charges.

In the charge, the four persons are accused of stealing N2.7bn through contracts awarded, and were not executed yet, got paid.

One of the charges alleged that “the four accused got involved in over N2.7 billion contract fraud uncovered in the Aviation Ministry under Sirika’s watch.

The other two co-defendants along with Sirika and his daughter are one, Jalal Hamma, and Al-Duraq Investment Ltd.

They were charged for undermining, and gross disregard for the procurement act in the manner the contracts were awarded thus abusing their positions to launder over N2.7 billion.

Recall the arraignment was earlier slated for Tuesday, 7th May 2024, but for the EFCC prayers to amend the charges, a new date Thursday, 9th May 2024, was given.
