Blind Spots Soon to Be Eliminated from Nigeria’s Airspace

The few remaining blind spots in the nation’s airspace will soon be eliminated as the government has approved the purchase and installation of state-of-the-art communication equipment to boost interactions between the pilots and the control tower.
Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, Managing Director of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, disclosed this at the sideline of the in-house inauguration and induction ceremony for all directors and Chief Executive Officers of aviation agencies and parastatals recently appointed.
He pledged that under his watch, NAMA will surpass the expectations of the users of its services especially the pilots, by influencing a better cockpit experience with ultra-high fidelity in air-to-ground communication ditto for en route communication.
Farouk declared that under his watch, all identified and recurring challenges will also be eliminated, and a refreshing work environment created while aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s, PBAT, “Renewed Hope” mantra.
Another torn in the flesh of NAMA, which perhaps is as old as the agency if not older, is the grievous and perennial challenge of epileptic power supply to its equipment in the trenches around the airports, which often inhibits the agency’s level of service delivery in over two dozen airports where it had its presence.
Hence, Ahmed Umar Farouk, NAMA’s new helmsman declared power as an emergency and pledged to tackle the menace until a reliable and modern solution in uninterrupted power supply is deplored.
Farouk however expressed gratitude for the gracious approval by the federal government which will culminate in the procurement of modern equipment to address most of the identified challenges inhibiting the agency’s ease of service delivery.
