NATCA, NAAPE, FCAN Call for Multidisciplinary Appraisal of The Safety of Aviation

The Air Traffic Controllers will tomorrow step out from the control tower, and the Pilots in Nigeria will also step out of the cockpit and disembark from the aircraft to converge at a ground facility provided by the regulatory authority for both groups critical to air safety to review notes since the past year and also exchange ideas, in guaranteeing better future for air transportation in Nigeria.

Hence, the Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers Association, NATCA, in league with FCAN and the Pilots has invited all aviators, and stakeholders in Nigeria, to join them at the annex building of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, along MMIA road, Ikeja, Lagos, for a crucial discourse with the theme; “Building Safety Capabilities for the Future.

Distinguished guests expected to add colour to the talk shop are, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, who will be the Special Guest of Honour.

The distinguished personality scheduled as Chairman of the occasion is Senator/Capt. Bala ibn Na’Allah, a former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Aviation. The guest of Honour is the Director General of Civil Aviation, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Capt. Chris Ona Najomo.

According to the post by NATCA President, Comrade Abayomi Agoro, the Keynote Address will be delivered by the multiple award winner and a distinguished recipient of the National Productivity Award, Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, the Managing Director/Chief Executive, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA.

The August event is jointly organized by the Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers Association, NATCA, National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers, NAAPE, and the …..Communications Association of Nigeria, FCAN, promises to provide insight into various thorny issues bordering operators in each of the entire value chains of the industry.

Attendees are assured of very rich panel discussions by erudite panellists who all have hands-on job experience to share with participants. The event will also present networking opportunities, and provide expert insights into issues.

This year’s talkshop which will make it the third edition organized by the tripartite bodies will begin 9am on each of the two days, Wednesday, 6th and Thursday 7th March 2024.
