Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power, was among the occupants in the crashlanded aircraft
An investigation has begun into the crash landing of a chartered private jet, an HS25B aircraft, with registration mark 5N AMM, operated by Flint Aero Services Ltd.
The chartered jet ostensibly took off from Abuja airport at about 18.44hrs and onboard was the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, with six other souls on board, including three flight crew.
At about 19.28hrs, the aircraft was granted clearance by the air traffic controller, ATC, on duty to touch down via runway 22 at the Samuel ‘Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ife road, Ibadan, Oyo state.

However, as was expected the aircraft should align with the center line, and touch down at the threshold as would be guided by the runway light to conclude the final landing paraphernalia, the aircraft by what the investigation will unearth, made its landing at the bush just before the thresh hold.
Eye witness account confirmed the aircraft sustained substantial damage but all souls onboard deboarded safely without any injury.
Consequently, the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau, NSIB, in a very terse media statement announced that;
“On the accident involving an aircraft operated by Flint Aero at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport Ibadan, please be informed that the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has commenced an investigation into the cause”.

The statement also affirmed that “Our investigators are on site, and further information will be provided as soon as possible”, it concluded.
Flints Aero in its corporate statement “aims to establish itself as a niche player in the corporate charter market of air transportation by focusing continuously on the lifestyle needs and requirements of the premium air traveler; Flints offers the best value proposition to the market it serves”.
