The management of Dana Airlines has announced the retirement of Capt Kolawole Shokunbi, who has chalked up eventful 44 years of a highflying career abroad and in Nigeria.”

Capt Shokunbi was one of the versatile captains of Dana Airline’s B737 aircraft.

Speaking at a brief reception in honour of retired Capt Kolawole Shokunbi, Dana Airline’s Director of Flight Operations, Capt Segun Omole said, Captain Shokunbi was one of the experienced hands with the airline.

Capt Omole said the management of Dana Airline would maintain a link with the revered captain with the view to help groom young pilots desirous of a successful career in aviation.

Omole enthused that as soon as the airline starts its expansion drive to connect more cities in Nigeria, the management would surely require Capt Shokunbi to avail the young pilots of his wealth of experience.

The Flight Operations Director said, “Dana Airline will tap from his wealth of experience to train the young Nigerian pilots that we shall be recruiting soon as part of our expansion drive to connect more cities in Nigeria.”

From all of us at NTH we say congratulations to the retired but not tired Capt Kolawole Shokunbi for an unblemished career. We also wish him another success and good health in the new “voyage” that retirement will naturally thrust on his shoulders.
