Dana Airlines has been commended for placing safety ahead of profit as evidenced in the voluntary grounding of its aircraft last year, 2022, to carry out maintenance on them.

The number one gatekeeper for aviation practice in Nigeria, Capt. Musa Nuhu, Director General, DG, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, gave the commendation recently.

Capt Musa Nuhu while narrating the measure Dana Airline adopted last year said, when the airline’s management found the maintenance of its aircraft imperative, they simply informed NCAA of their intention and pronto, they ferried them to various maintenance hangars for maintenance.

Nuhu recounted thus, “they (Dana Airline) noticed that some of their aircraft were due for maintenance and they informed us accordingly. I think it is commendable for an operator to ground its aircraft for maintenance.”

In a media statement signed by the spokesperson for Dana Air, Kingsley Ezenwa, the airline said it had also increased its frequency to the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

The statement enthused, “we have done our projections and based on demands, we have decided to increase our frequency on our Abuja route.”

It thus reiterated, “also our recently introduced flash sale of N45,000 is still available for our customers who book early and plan their trips with us.”

The airline pledged its commitment to continue to offer superior options across its route network with a very convenient schedule for its esteemed passengers.

Dana Air is one of Nigeria’s leading airlines with a varied fleet of Boeing aircraft and daily flights to major cities in Nigeria.
