Dr Harold Olusegun Demuren to Lead Discussions at ASRTI Quarterly Seminar

The foremost aviation pressure group with a touch of class, Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative, ASRTI, a none government organization, NGO, has announced that most of the distinguished speakers slated for the forthcoming brainstorming session dubbed, Business Breakfast Meeting, BBM, are in top-notch to do justice to assigned subjects.

A media statement signed by the media contact for the ASRTI, Mr Olumide Ohunayo, quoted ASRTI President, Dr Gbenga Gabriel Olowo, to have given the assurance that all is set on the part of the organizers, and also the resource persons have confirmed their attendance.

The statement affirmed that the lead speaker in the person of Dr Harold Olusegun Demuren, had given confirmation of his attendance. He is expected to do justice to the theme of the talk shop, PERSPECTIVES IN MULTI-LAYER AVIATION SECURITY SYSTEM & PASSENGER FACILITATION.

Dr Harold Demuren was the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, in whose tenure the battle for Federal Aviation Administration, FAA, of the United States Category one was fought and won, will fully participate in the ASRTI quarterly seminar.

Other distinguished personalities expected to share various perspectives on the theme are Capt Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu, the Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN

Also, resource persons expected to share perspectives on safety and facilitation at the event are the Managing Director of Pathfinders Limited, Mrs Nkechi Onyenso, the Secretary General of ASRTI, Group Capt. John Ojikutu (Rtd), who also was a former military commandant, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, will all volunteer a constructive approach to roll back the frontiers of safety and facilitation in the light of the threat to safety, terrorism. And the disruptions to facilitation- fuel scarcity, delayed and outright cancellation of flights among others.

Another veteran with hands-on the job, is the former General Manager, Aviation Security in FAAN, Mr Ayo Obilana. They will all be presenting their perspectives on the theme of the event.

The ASRTI statement disclosed that “brief Comments shall also be made by FAAN’s Directorate of Security and representatives of various security agencies at the airport including Nigerian Police, Nigerian Immigration Service, Directorate of State Security Service, Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigerian Customs Service and Port Health Services.

It stated that there shall be physical and virtual participation in this edition of the quarterly program that usually attracts hundreds of participants.

The august occasion to be hosted by ASRTI will hold on Thursday, 25th August 2022 at the Golfview Hotel, Ikeja GRA, by 8 am. Attendance is strictly by invitation.
