The management of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has suspended some officials caught extorting money from a passenger at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
A media statement to this effect as released by the General Manager, Corporate Communications, Henrietta Yakubu, Mrs, said suspects were caught in the act.
The statement said that, in line with the management determination to create a positive lasting impression on passengers at the facility, renegades caught will be exposed to the full wrath of the law.
The affected officials were staff of Aviation Security and Customer Service departments of the Authority.
The media statement announced that the suspects were immediately suspended, while the On Duty Card of their accomplice from the Nigeria Immigration Service had been withdrawn.
