FAAN commissions magistrate court at Abuja airport

Management of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA, Abuja, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has commissioned a magistrate court for use at the Abuja airport.
The court which would have both criminal and civil jurisdictions would ensure swift administration and dispensation of justice on matters that border on the bye laws guiding activities at the terminal.
Captain Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu, the Managing Director of FAAN, who cut the ribbon to flag off the use of the magistrate court promised that FAAN will “continue to collaborate with the judiciary, as well as other relevant stakeholders to ensure safe and secure flight operations at airports in Nigeria”.
According to the media statement signed by Faithful A. Hope-Ivbaze (Mrs.), Ag General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, the Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, Justice Hussaini Yusuf Baba, was quoted to have commended the management of FAAN for having the Magistrate court at the premises of the airport.
Justice Hussaini Yusuf promised that magistrates will immediately be posted to the courts as well as support staff.
He expressed optimism that magistrates that will resume at the NAIA court shall discharge their duties dispassionately without fear or favour.
