Pilgrims slated for the 2024 Hajj observance in Saudi Arabia have been reassured of a blissful facilitation at all the airports of departure managed by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN.

Mrs Obiagelli Orah, Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, gave the hint in a chat with the newly elected executive council members of the League of Airports and Aviation Correspondents in Nigeria, LAAC-N, who paid a courtesy visit to her office.

She said plans are at advanced stage and when the airlifting finally commences, pilgrims are bound to experience a seamless facilitation that will eliminate the notoriously long, tedious, queues which often were eye sore.

Mrs Orah enthused, “this time around, conveying of pilgrims’ bags, and baggages with any approved measure of cargo by their airlines will all be handled with a new system that will create an ease of movement for both the passengers and their luggages.”

She added that FAAN personnel will work seamlessly with the assigned airlines, ground handlers, cargo handlers, both the states and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, to achieve a smooth Hajj operation in 2024.

In a recent media statement by NAHCON, it stated that“the preparatory timeline released by Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah began earlier than usual and is expected to end before its normal timing.”

Meanwhile, the FAAN management had reiterated it will leave nothing to chance in ensuring that Nigerians travelling for the holy pilgrimage are accorded the best services at the airports.
