The Flight Dispatchers Association of Nigeria (FLIDAN), has elected new executives to steer the activities of the association for the next two years.
A statement signed by the Secretary General of FLIDAN, Mrs. Victoria Adegbe, said the new executives were recently elected in Lagos.
The newly elected President of FLIDAN, is Mr. Daniel Ayuba, who is the Operations Control Manager of Elin Group. The Accountable Manager and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Aviatrix Hub, an Approved Training Organisation, Mrs. Victoria Adegbe, emerged as the Secretary General of the body.
Elected as the Academic Secretary is Mr. Isaac Madikaegbu, a senior Flight Dispatcher with Air Peace, while Mr. Taiwo Oyewale, a Senior Flight Dispatcher with Dornier Aviation elected the Treasurer.
In his acceptance speech, the brand new President, Daniel Ayuba, expressed gratitude to members for reposing confidence in him to provide, along with the executive council members, quality leadership for the great association. He pledged that members’ interests will be protected at all times and the ethics of the profession will be held in high esteem.
Also speaking on the election, the Secretary-General,, Adegbe, said that for some time now, FLIDAN had not been very active and its presence was not felt in the industry in recent years.
She stated that the essence of the election was not only to further revive the body but to also give a voice to members of the association.
She informed that prior to the election, the Board of Trustees which comprised of Messers David Olatunji, Amos Olajide, Past Presidents, Wasiu Folarin, Raji Taiwo, Olusina Sina, and Lanre Alaka held a series of meetings and engaged with a broad spectrum of members and interest groups, which culminated in the election of exco members to run the affairs of the association.
Other vibrant members include James Bako, Julius Ekumatalor, Udoh Andrew, Aina Goriola Bello, Abah Godwin, Sulaimon Ajisebutu, Matthew Anawo, and Saminu Tanko.
Adegbe emphasized that the newly elected executives have herculean tasks ahead of them as Flight Dispatch is the core of any airline operations hence, the task should be discharged with ultra high sense of responsibility while taking cognizance of safety and efficiency which are the hallmark of profitable flight operations.
