FOR SALE: Presidential Jet Hawker 4000

The Federal Government has put out for sale an aircraft from among its presidential fleet.
The Office of the National Security Adviser made this known in an advertorial that, the jet, Hawker 4000 aircraft with registration number, 5N-FGX/: RC 066, is available for purchase to the highest bidder.
The advertorial supplied further details that the aircraft has a capacity for nine (9) passengers and three (3) crew members. Other information revealed that the aeroplane was built by Hawker Beechcraft more than 8 years ago.
The advertorial urged interested bidders to submit a refundable bank draft for USD$50,000 to the Chairman, Committee for the Sale of Aircraft, Office of the National Security Adviser, care of Special Services Office, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation in Abuja. Bidders are to note that all the bids should be quoted in United States of America dollars.
In giving further details about the machine put for sale, the government said the aircraft had chalked up a range of 3,190-nautical miles and had flown for 1,768 hours.
The bid advertisement urged all interested bidders to “please note that all bids must be submitted within one week of this publication. A background check is required as a pre-qualification for the bid”.
Further information as to the physical inspection of the aircraft was given thus; “Prospective bidders who want to inspect the aircraft will be granted access within one week from this advertisement,” the federal government said.

FEC APPROVES N9.7trn for RAIL TRACK BETWEEN KATSINA-MARADI, NIGER REPUBLIC
In another development, the federal government announced the approval for the release of $1.9 billion for the construction of a rail line between Nigeria with the Niger Republic.
The Minister of Transportation, Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, made this known at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting last Wednesday, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He explained that the proposed rail line would link Kano and Katsina and terminated at Maradi, in the Niger Republic.
Amaechi also stated that the council had approved the award of a contract for the design, manufacture, supply, testing, and commissioning of one railway crane in Nigeria.
This obviously is a good business for the Chinese who have since been providing the loan and also engaged in the manufacture and supply of nearly all the components for the modern gauge rail track construction and the supply of modern coaches.
