Fourth Batch of Lagos State Pilgrims Return Safely from Saudi Arabia

A total of 345 pilgrims to the just concluded year 2022 Hajj, have safely landed in Lagos from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Expressing gratitude to almighty God for the safe return flight and for conducting all necessary rites in the holy land without hiccups was, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Islamic matters, Alhaji Ahmad Abdullahi Jebe who, profusely thanked Allah for preserving the lives of every pilgrim and granting them the wherewithal to actively perform all the essential rites of the spiritual exercise.
Alhaji Jebe also extends his gratitude to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, for their support in making the journey a reality.
He paid glowing tribute to the pilgrims for their tolerance, understanding and cooperation exhibited by all which he said made the entire spiritual exercise a grand success to the glory of Allah.
The Chairman, Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSMPWB), Engr. (Imam) Shakiru Ayinde Gafar expressed the optimism that in the not too distant future, the government of Saudi Arabia could lift all the restrictions placed on the Hajj exercise.
Gafar stated that the Board was anticipating a larger turnout of pilgrims in next year’s exercise and gave an assurance that the state’s pilgrims board would provide befitting accommodation for all those who subscribe to visit the holy land.
Some of the pilgrims also expressed gratitude to Allah, the State Government and its officials for providing an enabling environment and comfort throughout their stay in the holy land.
Thus the arrival of the fourth batch of 345 pilgrims had increased the number of the State’s pilgrims that had returned home to 1,617 while the few remaining pilgrims, who are mostly officials of the State Government, are expected back in the country soon.
Other Board members on the flight include Alhaji Mojeed Sanni (Ikorodu Division); Alhaji Yusuf Ara (Epe Division) and Alhaji AbdulWaheed Lolade Shonibare (Ikeja Division) as well as some sub-committee members
