Gov Sanwo-Olu Signs MoU for Construction of Lekki-Epe Int’l Airport

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on behalf of the government and the enterprising people of Lagos State, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, for the construction of a smart international airport at the Leki-Epe axis in the state of aquatic splendour.

Governor Sanwo-Olu announced the epic event on his Twitter handle now X; Babajide Sanwo-Olu @jidesanwoolu .

According to the statement @jidesanwoolu, the governor with a tone of humility wrote, “We signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the internationally acclaimed construction company, Summa Group, to develop and construct the much-awaited Lekki-Epe International Airport”.

Highlighting benefits the airport holds for the populace and businesses when completed, Sanwo-Olu’s narrative explained further, “The Lekki-Epe International Airport will facilitate travel and create new opportunities for businesses and residents throughout the state- Lagos leads, always.”

Nothing can be more-truer than the succinct manner in which the governor encapsulated the social and economic benefits the modern airport would unlock, yet, he alluded to the drive by his government to bequeath such noble infrastructure to Lagosians and by extension to Nigerian citizens and everyone earth-wide desirous of accessing Nigeria for business or leisure.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu enthused, “This groundbreaking initiative is an essential part of our vision to improve connectivity in Lagos, stimulate economic growth, and draw in global investments”, the statement promised.

All things being equal, this airport should never be among those built and tossed to the federal government to manage rather, it is expected by industry watchers to become a major additional source of not just revenue in local currency but in sumptuous foreign exchange earnings.
