JUST IN: AON VS. FG, ET, COURT ADJOURNS TO 13TH FEBRUARY

On the suit filed by the Airline Operators of Nigeria, AON, requesting the court’s thorough examination of the process to birth a national airline, the court sat today and gave attention to the motion on notice as filed by the defense counsels on Friday, 13th January 2023.
In regards to the motion by the counsels to the federal government brought before Honourable Justice Ambrose Lewis- Allagoa, at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, seeking for the transfer to Abuja, the suit filed by the Airline Operators of Nigeria, AON, praying that the court should critically examine along with the extant laws of the nation, if the modus operandi adopted by the government in establishing a national airline, now a legal entity by name Nigeria Air, was fair, and whether it would not pose a threat to the existing indigenous operators in the Nigeria airspace and threat to the national economy.
The counsels to the plaintiffs were all in court and were not perturbed by the motion requesting the transfer of the matter to Abuja.
Counsel to the defendants merely affirmed the request as detailed in the sworn affidavit by Des-Bordes Felicia, in support of the motion on notice, requesting the transfer of the case to Abuja.
The court however adjourned the hearing on the preliminary request before it on where the case would be heard to 13th February 2023.
