LAAC Flight to Sheraton Hotel Ikeja Loading, Bernard Bankole Consents to Conduct Ground Affairs on Safe Landing, 28th July

As the clock ticks, counting down to the 26th edition of the 2022 world-class annual seminar organized by the League of Aviation and Airport Correspondents- Nigeria, LAAC-N, the running order for the event is being etched out as the immediate past President, National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies, NANTA, Mr Bernard Bankole, has graciously agreed to preside over the affairs of the day’s event.
The international talk show according to the seminar organizing committee is to proffer solutions to most of the daunting challenges bedevilling air transport in Nigeria but has as its arrowhead the theme, “Sunset Airports: Economic & Safety Implications.”
Mr Bernard Bankole, Managing Director Finchglow Holdings, who is a graduate of economics from the University of Lagos with a background in the banking industry is no doubt an unusually fitted personality to preside in the capacity as the chairman for the talk shop which promises to be highly cerebral and didactic.
A statement by the Secretary, LAAC Seminar Planning Committee, Mr Albinus Chiedu, said that apart from Bernard Bankole, other major industry stakeholders and players have also confirmed their participation at the conference, which would be held virtually and physically on 28th July 2022, at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.
Chiedu recounted that Bernard, in his acceptance speech before the seminar committee, lauded LAAC for its consistency in mirroring and shaping the travel industry in Nigeria through its objective and unbiased rHe explained that Mr Bankole accepted to chair the 26th edition of the conference because of his belief in the contributions of LAAC to the growth of the Nigerian aviation industry, stressing that the theme for the conference was timely and germane, especially at this time when operators were confronted with myriads of industry challenges.
Given a personal testimony before the committee, Chiedu reported that Bankole was enthused about the quality of LAAC’s past events thus: “the first time I attended LAAC event, I was impressed by the high-level discussions by panellists, stakeholders and participants. I am therefore humbled to receive the honour of being the Chairman of the 26th LAAC Conference and Awards. I believe that LAAC’s contribution to the aviation industry is worthy of recognition by all”, he said.
Bankole further presented the rationale for his conglomerates, Finchglow Holdings, and himself standing with LAAC and its programs thus, “at Finchglow Holdings, we thrive on a culture of professionalism and excellence. These virtues are not alien to members of this esteemed association (LAAC). I believe previous LAAC events have gone a long way in shaping the Nigerian aviation industry, hence, I am delighted to collaborate with the league.”
No less than 250 participants are expected at the august occasion.
Mr Bernard Bankole is the Group Managing Director of Finchglow Holdings, the parent company for Finchglow Travels, Finchglow Holidays, Lagos Aviation Academy, FCM Travel Solutions, Nigeria; Prysm Investments, Travelden Nigeria Limited, Finchglobal Nigeria Limited and FinchAir.
Bernard is also the Chairman of the Airline and Passenger Joint Committee (APJC) and the immediate-Past-President of the National Association of the Nigerian Travel Agents (NANTA), the umbrella body for the over 6,000 travel agencies operating in Nigeria.
Bankole is a member of the Hospitality and Tourism Committee of the Institute of Directors (IoD), a member of SKAL International and a member of the Nigeria-South African Chamber of Commerce (NSACC).
