B777-200 Cabin
Nigeria’s Max Air (VM) Flight operating a new Boeing 777 delivery plane from Bangor, in the United States, US, to Kano (KAN), has made an emergency landing at Casablanca (CMN) Airport, in Morocco.
According to statistics by Flight Radar 24, the newly acquired Boeing 777 took off from Bangor International Airport (BGR), US, at 9:08 AM UTC. While midway, the flight crew declared an emergency.
Reports had it the flight was promptly diverted to Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca (CMN) at 3:06 PM UTC.
By the initial flight plan, the aircraft was expected to touch down at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, MAKAI, Kano, (KAN), but for likely safety issues, the aircraft was diverted to CMN.
Details from Flight Radar 24 indicated that the aircraft involved in the diversion was a Boeing 777-200, with a Nigeria registration number, 5N-BBN.

Records indicated that the sixteen years and one-month, (16.1 years) old aircraft was first acquired by Japan Airlines (JL) in 2007. It was later delivered to Jet Midwest, thereafter delivered to Alta Airlines Holdings, and then acquired by TVPX Holdings before being delivered to Max Air, VM.
Since the aircraft was on a delivery flight, no passenger was on board as all on board were cockpit crew and engineers for the selling and buying airlines.
Earlier in a media statement, Max Air described its first B777-200 with registration number, 5N-BBN, as its latest addition and a significant step towards “opening doors to an exciting era of expanded capabilities and elevated passenger experiences.”
Max Air currently operates a fleet that includes Boeing 737 and 747 aircraft.
An inquiry from the Max Air management was not responded to until the time of posting.
