The management of Max Air has reiterated to Nigerians, and especially its loyal guests, that it will never for anything renege on its courteous service as safety, efficiency, and passengers’ comfort remain the hallmark of its offerings.
Barr. Shehu Wada, Executive Director of Max Air, made the declaration in a chat with some members of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents-Nigeria, LAAC-N.
He said the guiding philosophy of Max Air is safety, safety, and safety is even ahead of the clamor for profit.
Wada enthused, “What we sell is safety and we pride ourselves on our sincerity and commitment to safe and secure operations which we have guarded jealously from the beginning of our operation.”
He reasoned that the recent unfounded negative notion by some retrogressive elements peddled in social media was the figment of the imagination of nay-sayers who were not comfortable with the enviable safety record of the airline.
Barrister Wada narrated that if an unbiased observer should cast a retrospective view on the actions and reactions of Max Air as a corporate entity during the water in the aviation fuel tank saga, it reveals the extent of premium the management places on safety.
Wada reminded his audience that the management of Max Air had on its initiative grounded the particular aircraft and went ahead to file a formal report with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, on its discovery.
He however posed the rhetorical question of what other unpretentious act could better reveal an organization that Places ultra-high premium on safety and an eloquent testimony of the implicit confidence Max Air management reposed in the regulatory authority, NCAA.
Wada affirmed that the airline would remain focused on delivering safe and efficient flight services to Nigerians despite attempts by some individuals and those he called fifth columnists casting unfounded aspersions on the airline.
He however described the regulatory authority, NCAA, as a responsive and responsible regulatory authority that has remained thorough in its oversight in order to sustain the safety rating of the airline industry in Nigeria and among the international community.
Barrister Wada also paid glowing tribute to the founder of the airline, Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, who he described as a stickler for excellent corporate governance and unwavering on recommended safety standards and practices.
He assured travelers thus, “We have been in operation over the last decade without a single accident and that is because we continue to prioritize safety in what we do, we don’t joke with the safety of our passengers and crew,” he added
MAX AIR: ABRIDGED PROFILE
In 2006, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal established an airline named, Mangal Airlines.
In 2008, Mangal Airlines completed its metamorphoses and became Max Air.
Max Airline operated its first commercial flight to King Abdulaziz International Airport from Kano.
The airline was launched with two Boeing 747-400 and started to ply three destinations. It has expanded its route network to include several destinations and is now reputed to be one of Nigeria’s leading airlines operating domestic, regional, and international routes.
Max Airline has made its mark in the annual Hajj and Umrah operations in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi government found Max Air dependable by its impeccable safety record. Also, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has severally demonstrated its implicit confidence in Max Air.
Max Air has severally provided succor to fellow airlines and pilgrims alike. It often promptly responded when called upon to render urgent support in the safe evacuation of stranded pilgrims from the holy land or to save intending pilgrims from being shot out of Hajj when it is obvious other designated airlines might not cope with the number of pilgrims allotted for airlifting to the holy land and as scheduled.
