MMA2, Air Peace, FG Agencies, Others to Share Perspectives at LAAC’s 26th International Seminar

The pathfinder in wholly airport concessionaire in Nigeria, barrister Wale Babalakin, Chairman of Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, BASL, the distinguished manager of the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMA2, and Chairman of the leading airline in Africa’s west coast, barrister Allen Onyema of Air Peace, have confirmed their participation in the fast-approaching international seminar, annually hosted by the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents-Nigeria, LAAC-N.
The duo are the lead discussants who will be sharing their perspectives as major players from the private sector experience who have all along been exposed to the consequences of the government’s monetary and trade policies as they affect airlines and airports managed by private entrepreneurs
Also, the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, has thrown his weight behind the 26th edition of the LAAC-N talk-shop which will take place on Thursday, 28th JULY 2022, at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Ikeja, Lagos.
Other critical stakeholders, that have confirmed their participation and have even actualized their support through advertorial and sponsorship include ground handling companies, travel agencies, tour operators, insurance and financial institutions.
A statement by Mr Albinus Chiedu, the Secretary, Planning Committee of the conference announced that the Director-General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Capt. Musa Nuhu, will lead other federal government aviation agencies to the event which has as its theme, “Sunset Airports: Economics & Safety Implications.”
Some of the panellists that will do justice to the subject include the Chief Executive of air navigation service providers, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, Engr. Lawrence Pwajok, the Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Capt Rabiu Yadudu.
According to the Secretary, Seminar Planning Committee, others pencilled as faculty members are Engr. Akin Olateru, the Commissioner, Accident Investigation Bureau – Nigeria (AIB-N) and Capt. Roland Iyayi, CEO, Topbrass Aviation Limited, among others.
Mr Tunji Oketunbi, the General Manager, Public Affairs, AIB-N, would moderate the first panel, while Mr Olumide Ohunayo, Director of Research, Zenith Travels, would moderate the second panel.
Special Guest of Honour is Senator Hadi Sirika, Aviation Minister, and the Chairman, Mr Bernard Bankole, Group Managing Director, Finchglow Holdings and also the President, Association of Aviation Training Organizations (AATOs).
The conference is expected to attract over 250 aviation industry professionals, cutting across the aviation agencies, security agencies, international and domestic airlines operating in Nigeria, aviation support services, travel trade sellers and buyers and other stakeholders.
The LAAC Annual Conference has over the years, made an unquantifiable impact on Nigeria’s aviation industry by throwing up policy, management and operational issues for public discussion.
This has resulted in tremendously significant evidential changes in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
