NCAA, NITDA collaborate for better service delivery via digital tech

Accelerated digital transformation has been jointly agreed as imperative for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, in all its processes and procedures hence, exploring collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA.
The Director-General, NITDA, Dr Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, made the disclosure during a courtesy visit to his Abuja office by the Director-General, NCAA, Capt Musa Shuaibu Nuhu.
The host, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, stated that the agency had begun aggressive digital transformation by engaging in two different fundamentals namely, digitization and digitalization.
The NITDA explained that digitization is the mechanism employed by digital technology to enhance effective processing of products and services delivery.
While digitalization he described as “the adaptation of system, processes, using digital technology as a source of inspiration to change operational structure and procedure.”
The NITDA boss reminded the NCAA helmsman and his technical crew on the entourage that, “ICT impels of the need to conform to the best global practices and technology as an enabler, should at all times be deployed for increase productivity.”
Abdullahi said further that, the new drive for the agency, “is to engage all Ministries, Department and Agencies, MDAs, of government and ensure that they have the necessary policy, processes, and infrastructure in place to ensure timely service delivery at a reduced cost”.
NITDA DG, however, proposed to the NCAA DG/CEO, that an alliance could be birthed on the platform of the “Digital Transformation Technical Working Group”, DTTWG, to develop an appropriate tool kit and enabling policy that would focus on the NCAA’s core mandate.
The DG, NCAA, Capt Musa Shuaibu Nuhu, said the motive of the courtesy visit was to strengthen the existing relationship between the two agencies and create formidable synergy.
He said the aviation regulatory agency, NCAA, had since adopted ICT in all its processes and procedures and would not relent on its oars but continue to roll back the frontiers of impeccable service delivery to all in the air transport industry
