The plaque of the latest recognition by the regulator as the “Aviation Industry Champion Award”
The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc, NAHCO, has been adjudged the first among equals in ground handling services to the airlines, passengers, cargo handlers, and other related services such as cleaning, security and warehousing among others.
The recognition came after the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, cast a retrospective look at its oversight functions in the last 25 years, and found Nahco’s operations consistently consistent with the standard practice as stipulated by the International Civil Aviation Organization, ICAO, and also in harmony, as distilled in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, NCAR, for operators in the Nigerian aviation ecosystem.
At the grand finale of the NCAA’s silver jubilee, on Saturday, 15th February 2025, the regulatory authority made public its data-driven founding which bestowed on Nahco, the “Aviation Industry Champion Award”.

In an abridged citation before the Managing Director, Mr Olumuyiwa Olumekun received the prestigious award, Nahco was also dubbed as a bright shining star in the fast rising Nigerian aviation industry.
Receiving the award, Olumekun reaffirmed the company’s commitment to excellence. He stated, “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team”.
While making his acceptance remark, Olumuyiwa Olumekun pledged that Nahco will not waiver from its high standard which is now the hallmark for which the company is now renowned.
Olumekun further assured the existing clients, the prospective new ones soon to be signed on, and the general public that, “Nahco remains committed to providing world-class aviation ground handling services and continue contributing to the continuous growth and development of the Nigerian aviation sector”.
