LAAC Secretariat’s Completely Wrecked Roof
What traditionally, and from time immemorial viewed as showers of blessing for making the vegetation to sprout, and changing hot weather to cold or mild temperature has in this particular incidence, turned a bitter and expensive experience for members and the leadership of the League of Aviation and Airports Correspondents, Nigeria, LAAC-N.
A cursory assessment by this reporter, of the damages the early morning rain on Sunday 25th April, which was accompanied by heavy thunderstorm wrecked on properties at the secretariat cannot be less than N10million.

A media statement by the Secretary of LAAC-N, Mr Abel Orukpe said the structure of the building was affected, while other office properties and assets were utterly destroyed.
The LAAC Scribe said the roof was thoroughly destroyed, office equipment and furniture were damaged beyond repair.
Orukpe further chronicled damaged equipment as follows; ”the League’s printers, desktop computers, standing fans, air conditioners, a refrigerator, television sets, stabilizers and the furniture”, he said.

The League’s Secretary also identified other items destroyed as, some official documents and kinds of literature in the League’s library among others.
Abel Orukpe however said very few materials were able to be salvaged when the emergency responders arrived at the secretariat.
