AIR PEACE IOSA 6TH- STORY

Air Peace airline has announced the temporary shutdown of its domestic operations due to the scathing strike by agitating workers of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet.

In the media statement, the airline apologised to its esteemed customers, thus, “we regret to inform you that due to the ongoing strike by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Air Peace is suspending all flight operations nationwide with immediate effect.

The statement explained the rationale for her decision that, NiMet is saddled with the issuance of current weather report to ensure safe landing, while the absence of that report due to the workers’ strike poses a clear and present danger test which is avoidable.

The airline explained further, “This decision is necessary because NiMet is the agency responsible for issuing CNH (Current Nowcast of Hazardous Weather) reports, which are critical for safe landings, especially during this season of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. Without these reports from the control tower, flight safety cannot be guaranteed”.

The airline explained further that “as a safety-first airline, we have chosen to act responsibly by suspending operations until NiMet resumes full service”.

The airline sympathised with her customers because of the negative impact the temporary service suspension would have on them, but apologised, thus “we understand this may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely apologise”.

She, however, assured that “passengers will be contacted with updates and options for rescheduling”.
