Vice President Yemi Oluleke Osinbajo, to declare the talk shop open
An extraordinary assessment and critique session which will involve every organization prospecting in all strata of the aviation value chain has been put together by the Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika, and the august occasion will be declared open tomorrow, Thursday, 23rd March 2023, by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, in Abuja.
A media statement signed by the Special Assistant on Public Affairs to the Minister, James Odaudu, said the interactive session was conceived to bring together all relevant Industry Players to brainstorm on the Policies and Programs that have moved the nation’s aviation industry forward to its enviable position “as one of the best in the global aviation community”.
According to the statement, the forum will assist the Federal Government, nay the Ministry of Aviation, and all its six (6) parastatals to have a reunion with consumers of their services and other Stakeholders within and outside their domain.
The forum, the statement noted will enable the agencies to articulate ideas on the way forward and brainstorm on the developments within the sector as a whole.
The statement added that Stakeholders at the forum are expected to present their critical appraisal of the ministry’s performance since its inception of the present administration which has held sway for the past eight years.
According to the Minister, the Forum will also seek to provide answers to pertinent questions, that have not been answered for the past seven years and ten months, and will provide clarifications on the policies and programs of the outgoing administration.
The enthusiasm-laden statement by the aviation ministry enthused that, the forum “will bring together all relevant industry players within and outside the industry namely; The Ministers of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Labour and Employment, Health, Agriculture, Transportation, and Environment”.
“Also expected at the Forum, aside from the regular aviation sector players, are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Accountant General of the Federation, Chairman, National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission, Director-General, Budget Office, Presidential Committee on Salaries, and CEOs of Media establishments”, surely an uncommon event will be witnessed.
Although the statement did not mention any confirmed venue for the extraordinary event, it gave an assurance that by the time the no holds bare talk shop will conclude, its outcome will “truly lead to the socioeconomic and national development of the nation”, the ministry’s statement pledged.
