Bandits killed 2 FRSC Officers, 6 Injured, 8 Escaped, 10 Abducted

Two operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, have been confirmed dead and six others seriously injured, while ten captured by bandits on Monday, at the Mararaban Udege, in Nasarawa State.
The media statement issued by the FRSC’s Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), ACM Bisi Kazeem, said 26 officers who were traveling in two buses from the Sokoto and Kebbi States Commands of the Corps, for a training programme at FRSC Academy, Udi, were attacked about 8am, at Udege junction, along Mararaban-Udege, around Adoka, in Nasarawa State.
FRSC official statement related that, “One of the officers in the vehicle conveying the staff of the Corps reportedly died during the attack while another officer died in the hospital and six others were injured”.
It stated further that, “Eight of them escaped unhurt, while 10 are unaccounted for as they were allegedly abducted by the assailants,”
The statement revealed that the Corps Marshal, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, had immediately reported the incident to relevant security authorities for prompt search and rescue of the abducted personnel.
According to Bisi Kazeem, the Corps Marshall assured members of staff and relations of officers who fell victims that, high powered investigations had begun to ensure that the assailants were brought to book and those abducted regain their freedom.
Oyeyemi encouraged all staff of the Corps not to be deterred by the unfortunate incident as the corps will ensure no stone is left unturned in the spirited effort to ensure the perpetrators face the full wrath of the law.
He assured that the Corps would work closely with relevant security agencies to ensure that the criminal elements were brought to book and justice was served while the missing personnel were found.
