Musa Nuhu Earns Accolade as Capt. With Mastery Over Turbulence

The entire workforce of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has earned a deserving recognition for sustaining the much-valued air safety in the nation’s airspace for the seventh consecutive year.
Also recognized for successful manoeuvrability of a flight that got into a headwind while still struggling to climb and the voyage surmounted various challenges occasioned by nature and those that were man-made yet, flew to his flight level and safely cruised despite intermittent headwind but took charge heroically, is Capt Musa Nuhu, Director General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA.
The Editorial Board and the Award Nomination/Selection Committee of Air Travel Quarterly Magazine, at an impressive event, adjudged Capt Musa Nuhu as the, ‘’Best Chief Executive Officer in Crisis Management post-COVID – 19”.
ATQ Magazine noted that while the DG was being welcomed to the office, the scourge of COVID-19 which was unprecedented in aviation history began ravaging mankind yet, Capt Musa’s professionalism and rare management acumen enabled him to superintend over a hitch-free air transport restart which is currently experiencing a meteoric recovery.
The organizers said the entire workforce of the regulatory body, NCAA, was honoured with ‘” Safety Sustainability Award’’ for being able to ensure compliance to safety standards and regulations thereby engendering safer skies for seven years running.
It is on record that NCAA, under the leadership of Capt Nuhu was the first Civil Aviation Authority [CAA] to fashion out about twenty-seven [27] Safety and Health Protocols guidance materials for flight operations during the outbreak of the pandemic.
Among these are the Revised Provisional Quarantine Protocol for Travelers Arriving or Departing Nigeria, Industry Communication Safety Oversight Inspections and Audits, Revised International Travel Protocol into Nigeria, to mention but a few
In the wake of the outbreak, Capt Nuhu swung into action by organizing a series of virtual meetings on a regular basis to chart the way forward and thereby provide the necessary direction and leadership for the industry. The entire industry was carried along and no one or organization was left behind.
These efforts, combined with the new grounds being opened up by Capt Nuhu, have earned him a global commendation from the African Civil Aviation Commission [AFCAC] and from other global civil aviation Bodies.
Recently, Leadership magazine presented Capt Nuhu with the African Leadership Magazine Award of Excellence for meritorious, growth and development of the sector. Also, the Nigerian Engineering Youth for good governance also presented him with Merit Award for Quality Service.’
Other personalities that bagged various awards from the ATQ Magazine, were the Managing Director, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency [NAMA], Capt Fola Akinkuotu, Commissioner/CE, Accident Investigation Bureau, Engr Akin Olateru, Director General, Nigerian Meteorology Agency, [NIMET], Prof Mansur Bako Matazu.
The plaques and certificates for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, and for the number one safety inspector, Musa Nuhu, were collected on behalf of the DG and NCAA by Mr Sam Adurogboye, General Manager in charge of Public Relations.
The Publisher of Air Transport Quarterly magazine, Prince Supo Atobatele, said the organization will sustain its modest contributions of honouring those who positively impacted the industry in any facet of the air transport value chain.
