A clean sweep of the leadership of various agencies and their teams at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos, is imminent as the level of inefficiency and corruption persistently exhibited seem to continue unabated and the Presidency has been greatly unnerved by reports and videos that regularly trended in the social media.

Special Adviser to the President on the Ease of Doing Business, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, made the intention of the government to check the menace known, at a training program held at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, where all the heads of the agencies with the task to perform at the MMIA, were all in attendance.

She said the bad image such acts had cut for the country before the comity of nations, had propelled the Presidency through its agency, the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, PEBEC, to organize a training program for leaders and frontline officers of major stakeholders at the airports.

Jumoke Oduwole noted that the MMIA was fast acquiring the nefarious status of a place where officials do anything they liked without consequences.

Narrating the resolve of the airport managers, Capt Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu, Managing Director/CE, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, said names of culprits would be compiled, available video clips or bank statements of the people extorted or harassed or otherwise violated would be sent to the headquarters of the culprit’s agency, copy the National Security Adviser, NSA, and copy PEBEC and the Minister of Aviation.

Yadudu vowed that his administration will not cover up anyone. He emphasized that cover up was the biggest disservice to the nation.

He said most agencies would want to cover their own and such action he said, weakened the resolve of those determined to do the right thing and embolden the wrongdoer to grow in his/her vices.
