Arms-bearing Aviation Security completes training, soon to be deployed

Aviation Minister Sen. Hadi Sirika has received in the audience the first batch of arms-bearing Aviation Security, AVSEC, personnel for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN.
Hadi Sirika made the announcement at the conclusion and passed out a parade of the group he described as the first batch of trained arms-bearing aviation security, avsec, in the employment of the FAAN.
The Minister on his Twitter page announced that “the first batch of our arms-bearing aviation security personnel graduated today”, Friday 28th April 2023.
Sirika disclosed that the brand new uncommon avsec, perhaps the first of its kind in air transport worldwide had gotten well trained in the art and science of “Armories, shooting ranges & their uniforms are ready”.
He explained that the novelty in avsec soon to be witnessed in Nigeria was in consonance with Section 10 (1) c of the act of parliament that established the airport management company- FAAN.
The minister was full of gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for his graciousness in approving the transition of the nation’s airport personnel from exclusively civil defense to arms-bearing airport security, the first in Africa and about the third worldwide.
Hadi Sirika’s words of appreciation, “We thank Mr. President for the approval,” and boasted that, “PMB is leaving Aviation better than he met it”.

HM, are they going to join the multiple “checkpoints” at the airports that passengers face each time they are traveling or will they remain in the background at a safe distance? It’s frustrating traveling through airports where there are at least 9 “checkpoints” b4 boarding
