Sen Hadi Sirika, Minister of Aviation
The Federal Ministry of Aviation has clinched a princely sum of N10.08 billion in project approvals by the Federal Executive Council, FEC, at its meeting today, Wednesday, 25th January 2023.
Sen Hadi Sirika, Minister of Aviation made the announcement while fielding questions from the State House Correspondents on his way out of the meeting while the FEC was still in session.
In response to the inquiries of the Aso rock’s Press Corps, the minister responded thus, “today in Council, we presented one memorandum that contains three items, one of which is the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Hadejia airstrip”.
The total cost of this item (Hadejia airstrip rehabilitation) which was approved by FEC, the minister said was N7,482,071,196.56. And that the project shall be executed within a period of 18 months.
Sirika said Messers China Civil Engineering Construction Company, CCECC, shall be executing the project.
The second item on the approved memoranda of the aviation ministry was the construction of a control tower and technical building in Enugu airport.
He said the company to handle the project is Messers MASCOT Associates Nigeria Limited, in the sum of N1,973,606,141.75.
The minister further narrated that, “the third contract is for the procurement of utility vehicles. And it went to Messer’s Kaura Motors at N625,500,000. These are the memoranda and they’ve all been approved by Council today.”Share
