Book on the thoughts of aviation news hounds for launch, Thursday

Two Nigerian aviation journalists, Olusegun Koiki and Chinedu Eze would on Thursday, 15th December 2022, unveil a book on air transportation in Nigeria. The scope of the literary masterpiece traverses the aviation value chain.
The book, titled: ‘Air Transportation in Nigeria: The Lingering Expectations,’ would be launched at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Annex office, at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos. It chronicled several burning issues and topics in the sector.
According to the authors, the book x-rayed the aviation industry, its history, the milestones, and critically reviewed policies, regulations, and actions taken by the government and its agencies in the sector over the years.
The book also acquaints aviation professionals, stakeholders, entrepreneurs, and scholars in tertiary institutions with safety-critical issues, prospects to be tapped, and pitfalls that uncanny players may not perceive. Also embedded in the book is how to mitigate the errors of the past.
Barrister Allen Onyema, the Chairman of Air Peace has been chosen to be the Chief Launcher of the book which, stakeholders have described as one that fits all the industry challenges especially, in the Nigerian air transport industry.
The authors of the latest addition to the literature on aviation in the world’s most populous black nation said: “We are glad… to put this book together to drive conversation around the aviation industry in Nigeria. The contributions from some stakeholders and professionals also helped to shed light on the critical issues and topics written by us” they said.
They further said that “the book also dwells on the impact of deregulation on the industry and analyzed the performance of Nigerian airlines. It sets agenda for partnerships as a way to set in motion the growth of Nigerian carriers”, they said.
Some of the dignitaries expected at the book launch, which will kick off at 10a.m are, are the Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika, Directors-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Musa Nuhu, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), Prof. Mansur Matazu, and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Engr. Akin Olateru.
Others are the Managing Directors, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, Acting Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Mr. Matthew Pwajok, and the Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Capt. Alkali Modibbo.
Also, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of ground handling companies, Catering Services, airlines, auxiliary companies, and major aviation stakeholders and professionals are expected to lend a hand of support on the launch.
Koiki and Eze have a combined experience of over 30 years of reporting the aviation industry.
