Tongues are wagging how a private jet took off from Lagos airport and landed in Abuja, on 13th  June, for a “Driving Concert”.

A lot of questions have since been begging for answers as regards that flight. Nigerians have been curious about the operator of the chartered flight, organizers of the concert and the owners of the venue of the concert, who all provided support for a concert that was directly against the principles of the covid-19 foisted lockdown.

A concert termed “Driving Concert” was said to have been organized for a popular musician with the stage name, Naira Marley, to perform at the car park of the popular Jabi Lake Mall, at the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

Our corps of reporters reached various concern sources to no avail, in Abuja and Lagos, that should be involved in the authorization of the flight, to ascertain under which guise was permission granted for the flight.

It will be recalled that when the nation’s airspace was closed in March, the Presidential Task Force, PTF on Covid-19, announced through the Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, that only medical emergencies and humanitarian purposes would be the reason for granting permit for any flight in the nation’s airspace. Later evacuation of stranded various nationals was included among flights that approval would not be denied.

Hence the flight from Lagos to Abuja and return to Lagos from the aborted concert, under the present dispensation beats many Nigerians hollow

It is believed that concerned authorities in flight operations in the country owes Nigerians just a simple explanation as to the where from and where to of Naira Marley’s chartered flight of Saturday, 13th June 2020.
