Leadership of the League of Aviation and Airports Correspondents, LAAC, has resolved not to allow the heinous consequence of covid-19 pestilence stall the 2020 edition of its annual parley hence, the impact of the pestilence on aviation and how the industry can rise above its harrowing effect will be examined at a zoom meeting/webinar scheduled for Thursday, 18th June 2020.
Six panelists have been assigned the intellectual task of discussing extensively on the negative impact of Covid-19 pandemic under the theme, “Nigeria’s Aviation Industry: Changing Times, Changing Strategies”.
The panelists are expected to proffer practical solution, taking cognizance of the operating environment to, surmount the negative impact of Covid-19 virus on the domestic terrain and also highlight strategies to be adopted to stay relevant and profitable in the new order as foisted on air transport by the covid-19 pandemic otherwise known as coronavirus.
Tested and proven scholars and distinguished industry managers expected to do justice to the subject of discussion are; Capt. Musa Nuhu, the Director-General, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Engr. Akin Olateru, the Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer, Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), Mrs. Olatokunbo Fagbemi, the Group Managing Director, Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) Plc, Mr. Allen Onyema, Chairman, Air Peace Ltd and Dr. Gabriel Olowo, the President, Saber West Africa, who also is the President, Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ASRTI), would all speak extensively on the requirements by various segments of the sector to stay in business.
The panelists would also share result oriented ideas on how the players in the global terrain, especially players in the domestic airspace, could gradually recover from the harrowing effect of the pandemic and in record time to achieve recovery and be position on the path of growth.
Apart from the panelists, about 250 other industry stakeholders and professionals in different segments would participate at the webinar, which would kick-off at 11am on Thursday, 18th June, 2020.
