Mr Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation & Aerospace Development, cut the tape to commission Enugu Air, whilst Gov Peter Ndubuisi Mbah watched with admiration along with the excited government functionaries
Enugu state government has formally joined the fray of airlines owned by state government, just as the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, commissioned the airline named Enugu Air.
Festus Keyamo commended the state government and single out Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the state governor, for his resolve to lead the good people of Enugu state into prosperity through innovative economic decisions such as witnessed in the launch of Enugu Air.
Keyamo said that bringing the state to participate in the business of air transportation is a testament to what sub-national governments can achieve when bold vision meets strategic partnerships.
The Minister enthused, “Today’s inauguration of Enugu Air is not just a celebration of a new airline but a celebration of political will, visionary leadership, and ecoomic empowerment.”
He thus commended the state executive council, “Governor Peter Mbah has demonstrated what is possible when states take the initiative to invest in critical infrastructure to unlock economic opportunities and positions Nigeria as a cohesive aviation hub.”
Governor Peter Mbah, in his welcome address, expressed gratitude to the Honourable Minister and his team for their support and described the airline’s debut as a major stride in Enugu’s economic development plan.
“Enugu Air is more than just a carrier; it is a symbol of our resolve to connect Enugu to the world and invite the world to Enugu,” Governor Mbah said.
Acknowledging the role of the federal government governor Mbah said, “With the invaluable support of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and its agencies, we are proud to roll out a project that will catalyze tourism, commerce, and industrial growth across the South East and beyond.”
