LANDCRUISER 300 70TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION

Toyota Land Cruiser 300 70th Anniversary Edition

The management of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has refuted the claim in some sections of the media that its Managing Director, Mr. Kabir Yusuf Muhammed, had approved N200 Million for the purchase of Toyota Land Cruiser 70th Anniversary Edition for himself as an official vehicle.

A media statement from the agency described the news item as false and a figment of the imagination of the authors of the false report.

The statement said that presently, the Managing Director does not have an official car but uses his private car for his official assignments.

FAAN’s management, however, stated that “A contract for the Procurement of operation vehicles was awarded by the former Managing Director, Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, and the ordered vehicles are yet to be supplied”.

The statement further claimed thus, “FAAN has observed with great concern that agents of doom have resorted to the use of the media to distract the new Managing Director from the good work he has started in repositioning FAAN for greater heights”.

The media statement however revealed that even when some vehicles earlier ordered for refurbishment were returned to service and the MD was allocated one, as soon as he discovered the vehicles did not go around the directors, the MD voluntarily surrendered his allocation for use by another director and opted for his personal car.

FAAN therefore appealed to the media to cross-check their information to ascertain they are factual thus avoiding releasing falsehood, which is criminal by law, into the various media for the general public consumption.

  1. Wonder shall never ever end in the running of the MDAs in the country aviation industry.. Qouting from the FAAN management response to this incident “Part of the good work he has started in repositioning FAAN for greater heights” It’s on record that the entire domestic runway approach lightings that worth several thousand of dollars are stolen under the watchful eyes of the current FAAN management. Nigerians are yet to be formally briefed on what happened exactly, actions taken to recover the stolen of this crucial aviation infrastructure, those sanctions for the infractions and actions taken to prevent reoccurrence.

Further from the management response. I quote
“Presently, the MD does not have an official car but uses his private (personal car) for his official assessment” WHY? If I may ask directly from the MD himself respectfully. What happened to the officials car (s) that you inherited from your predecessor.

I’m also quoting from the FAAN management response. “The MD voluntarily surrendered his allocation for the use by another director and opted for his personal car” Who does that? Except in anticipation that the MD is going to order for his choice latest 2023 model official car that’s better than those refurbished cars he distributed to the directors whom he might have considered to be lesser being in a country with debt profile of over seventy seven trillion Naira.
