Multiple accident scene at Anthony, Saturday, 19th August 2023, occurred at the hour such truck by law should not be on Lagos roads
Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), have rescued three (3) accident victims in a multiple accident at Anthony, inward Obanikoro area of Lagos State
Mr. Lawal Hammed Babatunde, ‘Eagle Bravo’ (Zone 11 Anthony), who led the rescue team confirmed that the multiple accidents involved a 40ft container, two (2) Toyota Camry cars with registration numbers, KRD 432 JA, and APP 43 HN, and a tipper loaded with sand, and with registration number, T 17001LA.
Babatunde confirmed further that the three rescued victims were trapped under the 40ft container.
According to the media statement by LASTMA, the preliminary investigation revealed “the 40ft container truck while on a top speed collided with three other vehicles including a tipper fully loaded with sand as a result of brake failure”.
The statement “disclosed further that those three rescued were immediately taken to nearby Hospital by members of their families”.
The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr Bolaji Oreagba, also gave a word of caution to the motoring public to always ensure their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on any journey both within and outside Lagos State.
The statement added that “Policemen from Ilupeju Police Command supported Lastma officials during the rescue operations”.
