Federal Government of Nigeria to expend N1.1bn for Uniforms of Aviation Security

The Federal Government of Nigeria, FGN, has approved the total sum of N1.1billion for the designing, and production of a customized uniform for aviation security in the nation’s airports.

This was made known at the end of the Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting, on Wednesday, by the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Alhaji Mohammed who made the announcement of the decision from the FEC meeting presided by President, Mohammadu Buhari, said, the Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, got approval for direct procurement of a customized aviation security uniform.

The Information Minister told the Press corps at the villa that, “The Minister of Aviation got approval for the award of a contract for direct procurement for the design, manufacture and supply of aviation security uniforms and accessories”.

He gave the total cost of this very great and juicy singular item as, a total of N1,127,945, only.

Lai Mohammed gave a spirited description of the uniform by highlighting what he said was the uniform’s unique feature.

The Information Minister enthused, “the unique thing about uniforms for the aviation industry is that it has some International Civil Aviation Organization standards that would be followed.”

He said after a rigorous deliberation of the submission made by the Aviation Minister, the Federal Executive Council found it expedient to approve the sum of N1.1billion for the procurement of an uncommon uniform for the aviation security operative in the airports nationwide.
