Gurus in aviation to present the pros, cons of interlining, code sharing

The aviation industry’s highly esteemed and influential pressure group in Nigeria, Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative, ASRTI, has announced its First Quarter parley dubbed, Business Breakfast Meeting, BBM, which will take place next Thursday, 29th April 2021.
The parley which will be a virtual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic is supported by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA. The organizer has also chosen a timely subject with the theme; Utilizing Interlining and Code Share Agreement as Tools for Domestic Airlines Profitability and Passengers Comfort.
The event has been appropriately arranged to run under five (5) sub-themes of which each one will be handled by personalities grounded in the theories and have also had their hands on the job-practice- with an irreprehensible track record..
After the welcome address by a competent representative of the main organizer, ASRTI, the event will hit the runway and be made to climb to the right altitude for the occasion by the Director-General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Capt Nuhu Shuaibu Musa, DG NCAA.
He is expected to do justice to the first sub-theme; “The Primacy of Passengers’ Safety and Convenience in Interline and Code Share Agreements Among Domestic Airlines“.
To maintain the cruising level that shall be attained excitedly and safely by the DG, finance becomes a crucial factor hence, a representative of Sterling Bank would take over from the DG and treat the 2nd sub-theme, “INTERLINE & CODESHARE: ROLE OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS IN THE SETTLEMENT PROCESS”
The third sub-theme is, “Interlining and Code Share Agreements, A Nigerian Airline Perspective”. A renowned industry player, Mr George Uresi, Chief Operating Officer, COO, IBOM AIR, and a former Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, will air the operators perspective on the subject.
Speaker for the Fourth sub-theme is, Dr Alex Nwuba, who will be doing justice to the topic, “Utilizing interline and code share agreement as tools for Domestic Airlines profitability and passenger comfort”.
While last but not least among the faculty members is, Dr Samson Fatokun, of the International Air Transport Association, IATA. He will do justice to the fifth sub-theme; “Interlining & Code Sharing: The International Experience and The Imperative of Domestication”
The virtual event which promises to deepen the operations, collaboration and cooperation among domestic operators will be moderated by Dr Olusegun Harold Demuren, who in the African cultural context, is the big masquerade who usually maintains the rear among his peers and even among the junior ones when leaving the den. He will help put all that shall transpire at the webinar in excellent perspective, drawing from his wealth of experience to the benefit of the air transport industry in particular and the national economy in general.
According to a terse statement by the President, ASRTI, Dr Gbenga Gabriel Olowo, all industry stakeholders and the general public are cordially invited to the Zoom webinar on 29th April 2021.
