Immigration Officers on red alert to nab terrorists at the border posts

Nigerians have indirectly been put on red alert of intra African continent terrorist groups that have hatched a plot to invade the country and carry out a heinous attack at the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

The alert memo sent to all immigration border posts affirmed that the “Comptroller General of immigration is in receipt of a security report tagged, URGENT, from the Presidency, Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government, about a looming attack on Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja, between 17th -31st December 2021”.

The alert notice identified those scheming the attack and said the terrorists would be “led by one DRAHMANE OULD ALI, aka Mohammed Ould Sidat, an Algerian national to be assisted by one ZAHID AMINON, a Nigerian national”.

In the red alert notice signed by Edirin Okoto, Land Border Patrol Commander, for the acting Comptroller of Immigration, said the Algerian and his Nigeria cohort would arrive “Nigeria en-route Mali through Gao, and Niger Republic riding a white Toyota Hilux van with registration no-: AG 157 EKY”.

The memo noted that security intelligence revealed the duo already had four Nigerian accomplices who are already settled in the country.

The alert document dated 22nd December 2021, said further that, “Ali holds Algerian diplomatic passport with the name Najim Ould Ibrahim”.

According to the memo sent to all the immigration border posts in the country, the Comptroller of Immigration directed all Sector Commanders, Border Patrol Corps, to maintain unusual surveillance at their various duty posts.

Immigration officers have also been charged to be on red alert at the nations entry and exit points especially at the air, land, sea/marine, including but not limited to surveillance of their areas.

The officers are charged to ensure rigorous search on persons, vehicles, and transhumance, (seasonal movement of livestock such as sheep, cattle etc. between mountain and low land pastures either under the care of herders or in company with the owners) to effectuate the immediate arrest of these terrorists/countervail this and any terrorist attacks in Abuja.
