MMIA Joint task force apprehends 16 persons constituting environmental nuisance

Suspects apprehended for various offenses at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos
The Joint Monitoring Task Force (JMTF) and the Aviation Security Crime Investigation and Intelligence Unit, (AVSEC CII), at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, have arrested Sixteen (16) suspects for violating various aspects of the act establishing the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, and its bye laws.
A media statement by FAAN revealed that the joint team on Tuesday conducted the raid at the Murtala Muhammed Airport landside, car parks, and access roads.
The statement said the 16 suspects intercepted were apprehended for touting, hawking, and carrying out unauthorized foreign exchange operations,.
Others at the time of arrest were found loitering and Scavenging, all actions of which were at variance with the bye-laws guiding activities at the airport.
The statement, however, said that “All the suspects have been transferred to the Nigerian Police Command through the AVSEC CII for further necessary action”.
