MMIA (LOS) Begins Routine Maintenance of Conveyor Belts, Appeals to Passengers for Cooperation

The management of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, has begun routine maintenance of the carousels, (Conveyor belts) at the airport.


Hence in a statement by the managers of the nation’s 24 airports, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, and signed by the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Henrietta Yakubu, (Mrs), appealed to the general public especially air travellers to kindly endure the momentary discomfort it may engender.


The media statement said the airport’s facilities maintenance program demands the carousels be attended to now, with the view to ensuring optimal performance of the airport’s facilities all year round
She appealed for the understanding and cooperation of the highly esteemed stakeholders. They were urged to bear with the airport managers “as the maintenance work will soon be completed”


The media statement debunked the information in the social media, both the video and the narratives suggesting a breakdown in the baggage processing system at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

The statement affirmed thus, “the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) wishes to inform passengers and the general public that what is going on is a routine maintenance of the conveyor belts” and not the breakdown of equipment.
